      <title>TuDo Makerspace</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I have been an active member of the &lt;a href=&#34;tu-do.net&#34;&gt;TuDo Makerspace&lt;/a&gt; from the end of 2019 up until the end of 2025. I have assumed multiple roles in my time there, with responsibilities spanning from social outreach and education to keeping the space tidy and organized. During my last two years there I have been voted as the chairman of the space, taking up administrative tasks and larger responsibility for the entire space. Nearly all projects described on my website here have been created with the help of the TuDo Makerspace and I hold it very dear to my heart. Described on this page are some of the things I did at the Makerspace that I want to showcase.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Research at the Communication Systems Faculty</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;In March 2025 I have joined the Communication Systems faculty of the TU Berlin as part of the research project &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.lifolab.de/&#34;&gt;Living the forest lab&lt;/a&gt; hosted by Sara Reichert and Athena Grandis. There I was working on the first iiteration of the &lt;a href=&#34;https://karimcostan.com/projects/electrosluch&#34;&gt;Elektrosluch&lt;/a&gt; and doing preliminary research of my upcoming &lt;a href=&#34;https://karimcostan.com/&#34;&gt;Bachelors Thesis&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Part of the project was a two week excursion to Corte (Corsica), creating awareness about how technology can interact in conjunction with nature and how to make electrical engineering more sustainable. My specific branch of experimentation involved the perception of technology for animals living in nature. Our everyday devices emit a lot of imperceptable sound for us, building the Electrosluch was a way to show how animals with different hearing ranges (for example bats) &amp;ldquo;hear&amp;rdquo; the world with all of the technology around. An interesting challenge encountered during the trip was how to improvise in situations where electrical components are missing. In our case the wrong type of Inductor were sent to us, so during our time in Corte we had to create an inductor from scratch, calculating the amount of copper wire windings we require around an iron core to achieve the correct inductivity. It was a lot of fun!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Work at dEInLabor</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I have worked at the student lab &amp;ldquo;dEInLabor&amp;rdquo; of the Technical University Berlin as a teaching assistant from April 2021 until December 2026. My tasks involved the designing, improving and moderating of workshops for students between the ages of 10 to 18. These workshops taught the fundamental basics of computer science and electrical engineering. This article will showcase everything I have worked on in my time there.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id=&#34;mum-ag&#34;&gt;MuM-AG&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The MuM-AG, short for and translated to &amp;ldquo;MINT and Media Group&amp;rdquo; is a weekly held workshop which I have moderated with the team of the dEInLabor during my time there. The attendees were taught in different methods on how to utilize the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (MINT in German) in combination with media to better showcase learnt material and further advance in their studies. Their work was collected in the &amp;ldquo;GenaU-App&amp;rdquo; which we programmed together. The following subchapters show the tools utilized in 3-4 week periods during the MuM-AG.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Elektrosluch</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Initially created for a &lt;a href=&#34;https://karimcostan.com/education/research/&#34;&gt;research project for the Communication Systems faculty&lt;/a&gt; of the TU Berlin. It is a reinvention of the Elektrosluch designed by Jonáš Gruska for educational settings. I have taken the original circuit, translated it into a PCB and created a workshop around it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For those unfamiliar with the Elektrosluch, the basic mechanism is that the LC circuit at the top of the PCB is resonating with the electromagnetic waves emitted by electronic devices. The operational amplifier amplifies the received voltage to make it listenable via wired headphones. Especially important for me was that the circuit has to be understandable at a glance, segmenting the LC circuit, the amplifier and its needed voltage divider into three distinctive sections on the PCB.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;A reinvention of the MSGEQ7 chip on an PCB. The chip itself is very hard to find nowadays and they have the tendency to be faulty, so I have tried reconstructing the logic on a PCB as part of the &amp;ldquo;Projektlabor&amp;rdquo; course at the TU Berlin. It was my first PCB project, but is currently being reworked to be up to the quality of my current projects. The final result is designed to be a plug and play solution for different light set ups.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
